A wonderfully atmospheric large antique Persian tribal kilim cushion, made from an original handwoven wool textile with beautifully time-softened colours and a rich geometric design.

The antique textile features alternating bands of traditional diamond and lozenge motifs, worked in warm madder reds, earthy browns, natural cream and deep indigo-black. The variation in the weave and colouring gives it exactly the character one hopes to find in an old tribal textile.

Generously proportioned at approximately 27 inches square (69 cm), this is much larger than the usual scatter cushion and makes a fabulous statement piece on a large sofa, armchair, daybed or simply used as a relaxed floor cushion.

The antique textile front has been professionally made into a cushion with a dark brown/charcoal fabric reverse, piped edging and zip fastening.

There is age-related wear, colour variation and irregularity to the antique textile, all entirely in keeping with its age and handmade origins and, in our view, adding enormously to its decorative appeal.
