A beautiful French Art Nouveau brooch by ORIA, dating to the early 20th century.
The wonderfully fluid design features three stylised bell-shaped flowers enclosed within a sweeping circular stem, with the characteristic whiplash curves of the Art Nouveau period. At the centre sits a delicate pale pearl-like cabochon, providing a lovely contrast against the warm gold-toned finish.
The reverse bears the ORIA maker’s mark and retains its original long pin fastening.
ORIA is particularly associated with French gold-filled and rolled-gold jewellery of the Belle Époque period, and this charming little brooch is a lovely example of the firm’s floral Art Nouveau designs.
