A beautiful and wonderfully decorative antique French faience covered tureen, produced at Bourg-la-Reine and bearing the F. & B. Bourg-la-Reine – Trianon factory mark.

Decorated in a wonderfully soft green transfer upon a warm ivory ground, the Trianon pattern is exceptionally pretty. Romantic classical scenes of putti or cherubs are surrounded by extravagant Rococo scrolls, flowers, foliage and architectural landscapes, giving the whole piece a wonderfully romantic French feel.

The decoration continues across the original domed lid, which is finished with an unusual loop finial and a delicate repeating border. Further matching borders decorate the handles, rim and pedestal foot.

Best of all, the tureen retains its original matching lid — so often missing from surviving examples — making this a particularly appealing piece for display.

The underside carries the printed F. & B. Bourg-la-Reine – TRIANON maker’s mark.

A fabulous decorative piece for a French country, château or English country-house interior. Beautiful displayed on a dresser or table, and equally lovely used as a centrepiece.

As an antique piece it shows signs of its considerable age and use, including crazing, discolouration and wear, together with some small chips/nibbles. These are part of its history and shabby French charm; please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
